Tetherless World Chair of Computer, Web and Cognitive Sciences Jim Hendler
Hendler was selected in recognition of the 25th anniversary of the 2001 Scientific American article outlining his vision for the semantic web, which influenced the creation of the Knowledge Graph Conference in 2019.

The award recognizes individuals who have helped advance and create real-world impact in the field of semantics and knowledge graphs. Hendler was selected in recognition of the 25th anniversary of his landmark paper outlining his vision for the semantic web, which influenced the creation of the Knowledge Graph Conference in 2019.
RPI Professor Deborah L McGuinness also received the award in 2022, making RPI the first organization to have two different researchers receive the honor.
