The IAOA Fellowship recognizes distinguished scholars whose work has advanced the field of applied ontology through research, education, community service, and practice.
One of two Fellows elected this year and the first from RPI to receive the honor, Professor McGuinness is being recognized for decades of leadership in ontology engineering, knowledge representation, and semantic technologies that have advanced both the field and its real-world applications.
