In this class we will be focusing on a report to the President of the United States. The report makes several recommendations and the purpose of this class is to learn how to respond to a document like this, with research proposals.

Reading Assignment for Week 3 class:

  • Download the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) Health Information Technology Report

    Written Assignment for Week 3 class:

    • Propose a response to any recommendation in the PCAST Health Information Technology report that uses semantic technology
    • Include the page number and recommendation from the PCAST report in your response

    Presentation Assignment for Week 3 class:

    • Prepare a short (10 minute) presentation. Include:
    • 2 points your found interesting about the report and tell us why you found them interesting
    • a short description of your response from your written homework making sure to include the recommendation you are addressing and how you are integrating semantic technologies.
