Neha Keshan earned her Ph.D in Computer Science in May'23 at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute under the guidance of Prof. James A. Hendler. "Persona Aware Strategy towards Building a Comprehensive Semantic Data Layer: A Resource for Marginalized US STEM Graduate Students" was the title of her thesis. She has won a Best Ph.D Symposium Presentation award in WebSci'21 and a Best Paper Award in Knowledge Graph Semantic Web Conference '21.

She has worked on “Ontology-enabled infrastructure for integrated data resources - applied in Health Care and Materials Science research” during her first two years at Rensselaer. Prior to Rensselaer, she worked at Systems Security and Machine Learning Lab at Syracuse University and at Advanced Wireless Systems Research Center, SUNY Oswego. During this time, she worked on stress level detection in individuals and used electrocardiogram as a tool to authenticate individuals under different stress levels. She presented her work through multiple conference papers, posters, and a book chapter. She was selected for the “Global Education and Exchange Student during her Masters in Computer Application from A.K.Choudhury School of Information Technology at University of Calcutta and was a recipient of the “Overseas Endowment Travel Scholarship 2015” award.

Currently she is serving as a Web Presence and Publicity Chair for International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC) 2022, Track Chair Concierge for Knowledge Graph Conference (KGC) 2022, Treasurer for Graduate Women in Science New York Capital Region Chapter, IEEE and ACM student member, President of the Rensselaer Computer Science Graduate Council, and a Graduate Student Representative on Rensselaer Computer Science Graduate Curriculum Committee.

She hopes to touch people's lives by tackling real-world problems through research and voluntary work. She likes to spend time with her family and spends her free time with plants, nature, reading books, watching web-series and painting.
