 abstract = { Current Semantic Web technologies are enabling a new generation of web-based agents, capable of handling increasingly complex tasks. Furthermore, community collaborations (such as those on the World Wide Web) stand to increase the richness of information on the Semantic Web, as well as its number of users/contributors. The TW Wine Agent serves as a demonstration of Semantic Web technologies used in a community-based setting. The TW Wine Agent performs four key functions: (1) Allow users to describe the kinds of wines that they feel would pair well with a given food, through use of a specialized interface, (2) Recommend wines by aggregating semantically relevant opinions, (3) Provide detailed explanations of why these wines were recommended, and (4) Allow users to filter wine listings, based on semantically complex requests.
