SDS:May 07 2009 Meeting
From Tetherless World Wiki
Agenda, May 7, 2009
Peter, Patrick, Stephan
- WHOI
- accommodations - house or condo - does it have tv and internet? Depending on who has internet.
- Apparently, both have internet.
- Peter should know by 5pm today and will email both addresses
- mspace
- more difficult to install, but much more functionality
- jspace
- takes two items, the underlying ontology RDF, and a model describing the facets, how they fit together.
- d2rq
- configuration capability that lets us take a table in SQL database and convert it into an ontology
- More groups are looking in to this technology.
- Do we prototype using jspace and then move it into mspace as it gets more complex
- WHOI catalog is similar to CEDAR catalog. Will go through the tables, generate the ontology, create the RDF, work up the facets for faceted searches
- accommodations - house or condo - does it have tv and internet? Depending on who has internet.
- project reviews
- esg
- milestones for deliverables
- needs information from Stephan and Patrick list of tasks over the last few months, one or two items per month. For example, Stephan completed static security analysis with Fortify. Patrick worked through attribute aggregation use cases. Patrick Hyrax 1.5 release is a milestone with multiple container DAP objects, XML request and response documents, returning DAP objects as NetCDF files. (May, June, July and tasks over the last year)
- contract, not yet in place
- Stephan has gone through the code using Fortify to check on security
- Stephan will be giving build distributions to Patrick to install on his machine
- milestones for deliverables
- mdsa
- Look at Flow diagram Peter sent
- Question starting to come up ... what's the artifact going to look like that we carry through in the PML?
- spcdis
- Paulo ran through some things and and they decided to fix a bunch of things.
- esg
Jitin is making good progress and either he already has valid PML for MLSO's pipeline or he is very close to have valid PML. These are the things that I know that Jitin have done so far (Jitin, please correct me if I am saying something wrong): - Used Nick's PML Wrapper generator and the MLSO SAW created by Aida to create wrappers for the MLSO pipeline; - Learned how to use to generated wrappers; - Added code that was required to make the wrappers functional; - Helped the group to come up with a better approach for handling and deploying libraries (jena, pml api, etc) that was affecting the use of the wrappers; - Extended the MLSO script to call the wrappers; - Used the wrappers to generate PML; - Used ProbeIt to see the PML and concluded that the generated PML was not valid (due to an incorrect encoding of source usage); - Reported the problem back to Nick who improved the PML Wrapper generator to take into consideration node sets that are direct assertions; To generate valid PML, my understanding is that Jitin needs to re-generate the wrappers, re-instrument them with the same code that was added before, and to run the MLSO script.
- vsto
- Patrick still trying to get portal running with mod_proxy or mod_rewrite or getting own IP address for vsto.rpi.edu
- Stephan has updated wiki page
- tw web site
- tw wiki project migrations
- vsto
- escience backup
- guessing that no backup is being done
- might need to get a plan in place to do a backup ourselves
- for now create a script to do rsync or create tarball and send over, etc... Stephan will take care of this.
- CEDAR instruments
- lat/lon will be in new ontology (2.x) and don't currently need, same with altitude
- Hyrax on escience
- netcdf
- fileout
- fits
- dap-server
