- Oct 22 2009: Jim Hendler won an additional $1.3M as a participant in another ARMY CTA project team led by BBN.
- Oct 22 2009: The White House has confirmed the appointment of Jim Hendler as a member of the US Air Force Scientific Advisory Board - one of the highest advisory boards to the DoD.
- Oct 1 2009: Peter Fox and Deborah L. McGuinness receive $1.1 million in ARRA funding from the NSF to create semantic Web platforms for massive scientific collaborations
- Aug 5 2009: James A. Hendler co-chairs the 4th Asian Semantic Web Conference(ASWC).
- July 21-28, 2009: The Tetherless World Constellation hosted the 2009 Web Science Summer School.
- April 27-28: Prof. Abraham Bernstein (a.k.a. Avi) from University of Zürich visits and gives a talk "Hexastore: Sextuple Indexing for Semantic Web Data Management"

- Nov 22, 2008, The Tetherless group has a strong presence at the SMW East Coast Meeting at Boston (talks)
- Nov. 20, 2008: Rui Huang becomes an official member of the Tetherless group. Rui has participated in the RPI Map project and some other projects since this summer.
