Tetherless World Constellation

We are pleased to announce that through the kind sponsorship of Elsevier we are offering limited travel assistance to encourage students and members of non-profit organizations to attend and participate in the Elsevier/Tetherless World Health and Life Sciences Hackathon.

Award winners will be chosen from the applicant pool to receive a $150 gift or Visa card to be used towards travel to the event. Recipients will be notified two weeks prior to the event.


Eligiblity
To be eligible for TWC RPI Hackathon travel assistance, candidates must:

• Be working in or studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or technical field related to the topics covered by the Elsevier/Tetherless World Health and Life Sciences Hackathon
• Have a strong interest in creating applications, mashups and visualizations based on open government, scientific data and especially life sciences data
• Have a strong technical background with demonstrated leadership ability
• Plan to attend and compete in the entire TWC Elsevier Hackathon

How To Apply
To apply, by the indicated deadline send an e-mail to John Erickson, subject heading "Elsevier/TWC Health and Life Sciences Hackathon Travel Assistance." Please include:

• Your full name and e-mail address

• Current address, contact phone number and copy of photo ID
• Your CV
• One-page statement (no more than 600 words) about why you wish to attend the Elsevier/Tetherless World Health and Life Sciences Hackathon and why attending it is important to your research, work, and/or future career

Winners and claim process
Winners will be notified by e-mail approximately two weeks prior to the event. If you are selected, you will receive additional information how you will receive your $150 USD for travel costs.
