abstract: This chapter examines four commercially available diagnostic decision support (DDS) systems: DXplain, Iliad, Meditel, and Quick Medical Reference (QMR). These programs were developed explicitly to support the diagnostic process. Other electronic resources such as searching programs and CD-ROM textbooks may also be useful in diagnosis and are described elsewhere in this book.
