abstract: Two control strategies for the PROTEAN system are implemented in the BB1 Blackboard Control Architecture and in a new Procedural Control Architecture. These architectures are compared for each of several characteristics including performance and clarity of representation. Finally, the potential for compilation from one architecture to the other is discussed.
