abstract: In KSL-86-67, we described the programmer's interface to the CARE architectural simulation system. The interface, LAMINA, provides support for driving CARE models via application programs written in functional, object-oriented, or shared variable styles. In this paper we document a shared memory Lisp package, called QL, that is built upon the LAMINA shared variable model. QL is based on concepts from Multilisp and QLAMBDA. Like them, it provides constructs for expressing parallel computations that augment an underlying serial Lisp system. QL uses Zetalisp as its base language.
