Important twitter project rules
From Web Science 2009 class
Important rules for the Project 2.0
Your group should watch this page and track additions, clarifications, etc.
- You may choose any name you would like for your account (the tweep) as long as:
- it would not cause embarassment to you, other members of the class, or the instructor (if in doubt, ask!)
- it is not the name (or common misspelling) of a person who is a celebrity, politician, or other famous/infamous person
- You may not use content that is sexually explicit (if in doubt, don't ask, just don't do), would likely earn the ill-will of the RPI administration, or which would be offensive to a large segment of humanity. Your character may have strong opinions if you think that would be of use (cf. @sirbonar) but keep it within the bounds of good taste (if in doubt, this you can ask!)
- Your tweep needs to follow @wsrpi09
- Your tweep must have a bio which specifies that it is not a real person (but note, you are free to determine how you wish to express this)
- You may not use any site that is specifically aimed at helping you build twitter followers for commerce whether it is a pay site or a free site (such as http://www.twitterfollower.com/). If you are not sure as to whether something would be okay, please ask before you use.
- Researching advice for building followers from blogs and etc. is fine, but you must cite in your report.
New rules go below here
- a small number of your followers may be special accounts created by you, other students in the class, or people you have requested to do that - however you MUST document this and those followers will NOT count towards your total.
- there exist other microblogging sites that interact with twitter, you are welcome to create and use accounts on those but they are subject to the same rules
